Team V.A.N.
Team V.A.N. is a student-led FIRST Robotics Competition team based in Palm Bay. Our students design, build, and program competition robots, and they also take on sponsorships, fundraising, outreach, and the design decisions that shape the season.
What we do
Founded in 2026, Team V.A.N. (FRC 12148) is in its first FRC season. Students run the technical work and the day-to-day organization of the team, with four Team Leads covering Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Operations. Our main build space is in Palm Bay, near Palm Bay Magnet, Bayside High, and Heritage High. We are also the closest FRC team to Sebastian River High, Vero Beach High, and Indian River Charter High.
Why this team exists
We started the team because southern Brevard County and Indian River County have had limited access to FRC. Indian River County currently has no FRC teams, and students in southern Brevard often have to travel a long way to join an existing program.
This season
We expect about 15 students and hope to recruit 15 to 20 committed members. We plan to compete at the Orlando Regional and the Rocket City Regional, and at the FIRST Championship if we qualify. Competition dates and venues are on the Competitions page.
Sponsorship
As a first-year team we are still putting operations, travel, registration, and a robot in place at the same time. Sponsor support helps cover those operating costs, and sponsors are featured on team shirts and the website. Details are on the Sponsors page.
